Weight Lifting Grips to Enhance Your Workout

January 27, 2012

If you are not using Weight LIfting Grips in your strength training workouts you are really missing and added benefit to your overall training regimine. Most people relate lifting straps to power lifters and body builders. It is really unfortante because weight lifting straps are for the beginners to advanced weight lifters.

As a beginner, you get the benefit of added stability that lift strap provides but it wrapping around the bar as you do your exercise. Weight lifting grips also add extra wrist support that help prevent injury. You also get the added beneift of doing more reps during certain exercises because of the lifting strap adding more gripping power allowing you to hold onto the bar or dumbell longer.

This is one of the most important features I like about using lifting straps. If I were to do shoulder shrugs with dumbells I would usually only be able to do eight to ten reps with 80 pound dumbells. When I use a weight lifting straps I can extend the amount of reps into the twelve to fifteen rep range because of the added support.

My favorite weight lifting strap is called Rex’s Grip. Rex’s weight lifting strap is made out of soft cotton about 1 1/4 inche in width made out of all organic materials. The best thing about Rex’s Grip is that is is easier to adjust it for any exercise versus the competitors. I’m able to wear the lifting strap on all my exercises and I never have to take them off. Other straps I have tried are so big and clumbsy that I have to take them off or move them when I go from exercise to exercise.

Anyways, I would highly recommend using Weight Lifting Straps for your workout and if you are going to buy one I would lok at Rex’s Grip first. Below is a video of the product.
